“Forth Ports is helping our valued cruise line customers as a very difficult time for the industry. We are currently providing safe and suitable river anchorages for two Fred Olsen vessels in the River Forth with a few more vessels expected to arrive soon.
These vessels are our regular callers into the Forth and we are supporting them while their ships are not operational. There are no passengers on board, and there will only be a skeleton crew on board while they are an anchorage. The rest of the crew are being transferred from the ships to Edinburgh Airport to get them home.
The Balmoral and The Black Watch have had no impact from the COVID-19 virus.”
STOP PRESS: All four Fred Olsen ocean +vessels are now at anchor in the Roads of the Firth along with the Viking Sky. The ships are crewed at maintenance levels only.
We list below, courtesy of Cruise Forth, the ships anchoring off Newhaven and tendering their passengers ashore during the 2020 Cruise Season. The list may now be largely academic in light of the Covid 19 Crisis but we continue to publish the list as a matter of historic interest. There will be a new list published by CruiseForth sometime during Winter 2020/21.
You are advised to check on the Cruise Forth website for the latest information. The pages are always updated as information comes to hand. This can be found at cruiseforth.com/content/ship/
